College student commits suicide over love affairs

Arjun Biswas, 22, son of Amulya Biswas, from Chapachupa village under Ratnapur union of Agoiljhara upazila, committed suicide over hanging himself from roof top of his bed room over lover affairs on early Wednesday. Naqib Akram Hossain, officer in charge ( investigation) of Agoiljhara police station, acknowledging the facts, said after receiving information he along with Probationary Sub Inspector Minhzul Islam, rushed to the spot recovering the dead body on Wednesday morning. The dead body sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday noon after lodging a case of unnatural death (no.7, Dt. 27-02-19) with that police station, the OC said. Quoting family and local sources police said Arjun was an honours student of Social Welfare department of Barishal Government B M Colllege and engaged in love with a local school girl since long days. Following altercation with his fiancé he committed suicide, they said .

 A view exchange meeting was held at Pagla Thana of Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Wednesday. To build up honesty and sincerity among young generation ,a view exchange meeting of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Committee with students, teachers Managing Committee and elite persons of Barohati Fazil Madrasa of Pagla Thana under Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Committee. Madrasa principal Mawlana Md. Mujibur Rahman presided over the view exchange meeting. Dr.K.M.Ehsan Adv. president of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption committee was the chief guest in the meeting.General Secretary of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption committee Md.Rafiqul Basar conducted the meeting. Upazila Anti-corruption committee member-Golam Mahmud Faroki, member Sultan Ahmmad, Alim Ist year student Md. Saber Hussain, Asst. Professor-Md. Fazlur Rahman khan, principal Rafik Uddin Molla,principal of Baroihati A.K.School and College delivered their speeches on Anti-corruption. After the view exchange meeting Dr.K.M.Ehsan Adv. president of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption committee administered the oath taking among students teachers and elite person in the meeting.
‘Youth volunteers of BDRCS laudably serving humanity’
RANGPUR: The youth volunteers of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) are laudably standing beside the distressed and suffering humanity to serve them during natural disasters. Chairman of BDRCS Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder viewed this at concluding function of the four-day First Divisional Youth Red Crescent Camp-2019 held on Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus here on Tuesday afternoon as the chief guest. Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Public Administration H.N. Ashequr Rahman, MP, Vice-chairman of BDRCS Professor Dr. Habibe Millat, MP, Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah and Member of the Board of Directors of BDRCS Rehana Ashequr Rahman addressed as special guests. President of Rangpur Unit of BDRCS and Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom presided over the concluding function. The speakers appreciated role of the youth volunteers of BDRCS in serving the distressed and suffering humanity through creating awareness and early preparedness to face disasters and conducting rescue and relief operations during natural calamities, reports BSS.
