School girl commits suicide

A school girl of class ten allegedly committed suicide at her own room at Toraghar Kajibari in Hajiganj Upazila Sadar early Saturday. She was identified as Tasni Mimu – daughter of late A. Matin hailing from Rosulpur village in Ashrafpur union of Kochua Upazila. A student of class X at Hajiganj Pilot Govt High School & College, Mimu used to stay for study at her maternal uncle’s home at Toraghar area in Hajiganj Upazila. On getting information, Police rescued her body at dawn and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital morgue on Saturday noon. Family feud might be cause of her death-said Hajiganj Thana Investigation officer Abdur Rashid. A UD case was filed in this connection.
Training of fruit producers ends in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI: The five day farmers training on year round fruit production for improvement of nutrition concluded here recently . A total of 150 farmers from six upazilas of the district took part in the fifth batch training course under the project of year round fruit production at the conference room of the Department of Agriculture Extension. In the training course the farmers got the knowledge on the technic of using the fertilizers, insecticide and irrigation for the year round various fruit cultivation. Deputy Director Department of Agriculture Extension, Narsingdi Shovan Kumar Dhar, District Training officer Dr. Mohit Kumar Dey, Additional Deputy Director (plant protection) Dr Jamaluddin, Additional Deputy Director( crop) Dr Safayet Ahmed Siddique, Scientific officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Shibpur, Mohammad Arifur Rahman were the resource persons of the training course, reports BSS
SSC examinee commits suicide

Md. Nahid Fakir (16), a SSC examinee of Gabkhali High School and son of one Faruk Fakir of village Satbaria within Bahirdia Union under Fakkirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district committed suicide hanging himself with a Nim tree near his house on Wednesday. It is learnt from the locals that the ill-fated examine cut sorry figure in his examination of ICT paper held on February 13 under Jessor Education Board. As result he was badly disappointed and ended his life in this drastic way. In this connection a UD case was lodged with Fakirhat Model PS. It may be mentioned here that the examination of ICT paper was later cancelled by the Education Board.
Motor cyclist killed in road mishap
A motor cyclist was killed on Khulna-Mongla Highway near at Lokpur under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district at Thursday night when he was run over by a loaded truck. The deceased was identified as one Md. Nahid Fakir (60) of village Jaria-Mait-Kumra under the same Upazila. It is learnt from Katakhali Highway PS (under Fakikrhat Upazila) that at the night at 9 pm the ill-fated motor cyclist was going some where and when reached the place of occurrence a speeding truck dashed him violently from behind. As a result, he was fatally injured and when he was rushed to Fakirhat Upazikla Health Complex doctor on duty declared him dead. The Highway police seized the killer truck. But its driver and helper managed to escape.
