Woman held with Yaba tablets in Kishoreganj

DB police in a drive arrested a woman yaba trader and recovered 200 tablets from her at Gaital Bus Terminal on Friday midnight. The arrested woman are Renu Begum (40) wife of Md Rafique Miah at Jagannathpur area in Bhairab town of Kishoreganj. DB Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Hayet Md Iqbal told that Renu Begum is a listed yaba trader. A case was field in this connection with Kishoreganj Model Police Station. She was sent to Kishoreganj District Jail.

A social organisation ‘Amader Priyo Saidpur’ has celebrated Valentine’s Day extraordinary by feeding the helpless and hungry people on Thursday . Mamta’s Feriwala distributed their love for the helpless victims in the streets by distributing packet of biriyani. Nawshad Ansari, General Secretary of the organisation said, “We offer food for the helpless people every year instead of purchasing a rose of 50 taka.” In order to express the real love, we are celebrating the love day every year. The other members of the organisation said, “The organisation’s dream is to stand beside the helpless people and express the manifestation of true love among all. So according to the motto of ‘Amader Priyo Saidpur’, we celebrate our Valentine’s Day with the poor, needy, hungry and helpless people.
Valentine’s Day, Sundarban Day observed

Under the joint initiative of Bagerhat Press Club and Save the Sundarban Foundation the Valntine’s Day and Sundarban Day was celebrated in Bagerhat district town in a befitting manner on Thursday. On the occasion a colourful rally that was brought out from Bagerhat Press Club premises in the morning led by Tapan Kumar Biswas, DC, Bagerhat, Pankaj Chandra Roy, Police Super of Bagerhat and Ahad Uddin Haidar, President of the Club paraded the main thoroughfares of the district town and ended at the same venue. It was followed by a lively discussion meeting held in the Press Club auditorium with its president Ahad Uddin Haidar in the chair. In his inaugural speech Ahad Uddin Haidar explained the need and importance of the day. Tapan Kumar Biswas, DC, Bagerhat while was addressing the meeting as the chief guest told, the world consists of both human being and nature. So, we should love both the nature and human being. If we do not behave well with the nature she takes revenge of it and consequently, we are to suffer from various natural calamities. He added, Sundarban the biggest mangrove forest of the world was not created by man. It was created naturally. It is a blessing for our country. So, we should take all possible steps to save this natural mangrove forest. Adv. Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, former MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 who was present in the discussion meeting as a special guest told, Sundarban is a world heritage and blessing for our country. So.it is our moral duty to protect Sundarbans from the hands of the miscreants Pankaj Chandra Roy, Police Super of Bagerhat who was present in the discussion meeting as one of the special guests said, I love Sundarbans very much.

The local people cannot understand the importance of the forest. This coastal region is cyclone inclined area and Sundarban forest protects the region from natural calamities as mother. Not only that but also it is full of natural resources and it plays an important role in the economy of the country. He also said, I am always ready to help the forest department to protect it (Sundarbans) from the hands of the miscreants who are always try to steal the forest resources, if the forest department requires.
