3,139 bottles of phensidyl recovered in Chapainawabganj

RAB recovered 3,139 bottles of phensidyl and arrested four persons in this connection in Chapainawabganj sadar and Gomostapur upazilas early today. The arrestees are Alom Hossain, 40, son of Imran Hossain of Bathanpara village, Md. Zakarul alias Zakaria, 32, son of Ramzan Ali of Morapagla village both under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, Ziltu Mia, 35, son of Shamsuddin Mia and Taref Ali, 30, son of late Nizam Ali both of Anarpur village under Gomostapur upazila of the district. Chapainawabganj camp commander of RAB Major Quamruzzaman Pavel said, acting on secret information, an operation team of RAB from Chapainawabganj camp raided Tikrampur area in Chapainawabganj municipality at 12-30 am and held Zakarul and Alom with 739 bottles of phensidyl. Again, RAB made another drive at Bangabari area under Gomostapur upazila at around 5-30 am and held Ziltu Mia and Taref Ali with 2,400 bottles of phensidyl. Later RAB handed them over to the concerned police stations with cases.
Victory Day observed in Gopalganj

The 44th Victory Day-2014 was observed with a befitting manner in Gopalganj Tuesday . The Day was began in firing 31-gun-salute, the National Flag was hoisted by Md Khalilur Rahman, DC Gopalganj. Different political parties, freedom fighters, journalists and other organisations placed floral wraths at the Independent Monument, Gopalganj town. Students of different organisations, rovers’ scouts, BNCC, police, orphans and different social and cultural organisations attended in a March-past and Gymnastic show at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Gopalganj town. Gopalganj District Administration arranged a discussion meeting and reception function for freedom fighters families at ’71 Badya Bhumi premises. Later at 2.30pm a milad mahfil and a discussion meeting was held at the District Freedom Fighters’ Office premises. Badruddoza Badar, District Commander preside the meeting.
