Confce on upgrading Pangas, Telapia value chains at BAU

A mid-term stakeholders conference on ‘upgrading Pangas and Telipia value chains in Bangladesh ‘was held at Conference Hall of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh on Monday. BAU Pro VC Prof Dr. Md. Jasimuddin Khan addressed the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest. Prof Dr. M ASattar Mandal, Emeritus Professor, Bangladesh Agricultural University was present as guest of honor and Professor Dr. Shaikh Abdus Sabur, Dean faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, BAU, Dr. Niels O. G. Jorgensen, Professor, Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark were present as special guests among others, addressed the conference. Professor Badiuzzaman Country coordinator BangFish and Dean Faculty of Business Administration and Management Patuakhali Science and Technology University was presided over the inaugural session. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Khan, Leader, Work package-3, BangFish project, and Professor, Department of Agriculture Finance, BAU presented the progress and achievement of the BangFish project and Welcome Address was delivered by Professor Dr. Sultan Mahmud. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Khan, Leader, Work package-3, BangFish project said, The aim of the project is to upgrade aquaculture production, farm management, quality improvement and value chain performance for making Pangas and Tilapia a high value fishes for both domestic and international market. This is a multidisciplinary multi-institutional collaborative research project. The collaborating institution includes universities both from Bangladesh and several others from Europe and global fish research organization like FAO Euro fish as well.
Hindu Kalyan Trust distributes certificate

Hindu Kalyan Trust a unit of Religious Ministry arranged a certificate, prize and crest distributiion programme among the Mondir based primary teachers and students at Kishoreganj Collectorate Conference Room on Monday. DC Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury and SP Md. Mashrokur Rahman Khaled BPM were attended as chief and special guest while Deputy Secretary & ADC (G) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil in the chair. It was addressed among others by Hindu Kalyan Trusty senior Adv Dholon Bhowmic, Trusty Lipu Roy, Prof Pranesh Kumar Chowdhury, Principal Prof (Retd.) Robindranath Chowdhury, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Assistant Director of Hindu Kallan Trust Md. Humayon Kabir and Teacher Bharati Rani Borman. At least 15 mondir primary teachers including 10 primary students given the prize, crest and certificates.
