Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram, Mominur Rahman said the administration will be in a strict position to make the lockdown announced by the government to prevent corona infection a success.
He was speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Chittagong Circuit House on Saturday at noon.
He said that according to the statistics of the last 14 days, corona infection has increased from 13 percent to 22 percent in the whole country.
This is a warning signal for everyone. Therefore, the district administration will be in a strict position to make the lockdown announced by the government a success.
The deputy commissioner said 12 teams of the district administration will work in the Chattogram metropolitan area. Besides, 3 teams will work in each upazila.
The DC said, ‘The Delta variant of corona is extremely deadly. The ICU in Chattogram City Hospital is already full. Besides, 80 percent of the ordinary beds are filled with patients. If this situation worsens, it will be difficult to handle. So everyone should wear a mask and follow the hygiene rules. ‘
