BM College students demand reduction of fees

Several hundred students of Barishal Govt. Brojo Mohun (BM) College on Saturday noon formed a human chain, blocking road held agitation rally demanded reducing examination and other fees charged by National University Authority (NUA)and affiliated colleges. Honours students of different disciplines started agitation in front administrative building and later forming human chain blocking road held agitation rally at about 12 noon demanded reducing their session charge, examination and other fees. Due to blocking of busy road crossing in front of the campus for half an hour, traffic movement stopped and created long tail. Officer in Charge of Barishal Kotwali station Nurul Islam rushed to the spot requested the students to hold their agitation programme inside the campus to open the road for ending public sufferings.
Skill competition held in Cnawabganj Polytech Institute

A skill competition was held at Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute at Baroghoria in Chapainawabganj Sadar on Saturday. Student of the Institute displayed twelve projects including modern education technique, modern bridge construction and vegetable ice cream. Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute arranged the programme with the help of Skills and Training Enhancement Project-STEP, Technical education department, technical and madrasa education department and ministry of education. A discussion meeting was also held at the auditorium of Polytechnic Institute. Engineer Humayaun Kabir Khan, principal of the institute presided over the programme while Md. Alamgir Hossain was present as Chief Guest. Among others, Abdur Rahim, principal of Technical Training Centre and Md. Rubeluddin, programme officer of the office of director general-DG of Technical Education Department were present as special guest. Engineer Humayaun Kabir Khan, principal of the institute said, students displayed their invented twelve items like as science fair. Of them, virtual education system project got first prize, modern bridge got second prize and to make vegetable ice cream project got third prize.
Winner students will be attended at divisional contest in Rajshahi.
