Orientation on maternal, child mortality held

 A daylong, orientation programme was held in Nilphamari on Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Children (SHOW) Project funded by Global Affairs Canada. Plan International Bangladesh organised the event with the support of implementing organisation LAMB yesterday. The meeting was started with inauguration speech. Biploby Rani Dey Roy, Communications Specialist of Plan International Bangladesh Rangpur Divisional Office has presented a report on SHOW project and discussed about goal, objective, participants, working area, major activities and achievements of the project. Since 2016, SHOW project has been working with all Union Health and Family Welfare Centers (UH&FWC) across the Nilphamari district and offering gender responsive adolescent friendly MNCH (Maternal Neonatal and Child Health) and SRHR ( Sexual Reproductive Health Rights) services with free of cost. Two CSBAs are deployed to ensure 24/7 safe delivery services in each UH&FWC. One Community Health Worker is working for 800 households to identify pregnant women and motivate them to receive ANC and for institutional delivery. In the discussion session, participants came to know about different types of health services of SHOW project, how poor people especially pregnant women getting these services from Union Health&Family Welfare Centre (UH&FWC), the way of receiving health services, how husband or male member are supporting pregnant women to do household chores& receive health services and what is the role of them to ensure safe delivery. Representatives from electronic and print media of Nilphamari district, staff of Plan International Bangladesh and LAMB were participated the event.
Final match of football tournament held

“There is no alternative of games and sports beside study”, said Begum Monnuzan Sufian, Member of parliament (MP) of Khulna-3 Constituency (who is also the former State Minister for Labor and Employment) while she was giving prize money to the champion team of the Football tournament held at Moheshwarpasha Krishna Mohon High School square under Daulatpur police station in Khulna city on Saturday evening. The Football tournament was arranged by Ishrat Shamaj Kolyan Shangstha in memorial of Shahid (Martyred) Professor Abu Sufian, Bir Protik. Alhaj Md. Shahabuddin, President of Railygate Baitul Elah Jame Mosque and also chief patron of Ishrat Shamaj Kolyan Shangstha presided over the function. Begum Monnuzan Sufian, MP was present as chief guest and handed over Tk 20 thousand as prize money to the Champion team of the tournament. In her speech Begum Sufian said,
