Training on market linkage dev held at BAU

Implementation of pricing policy is essential to save the stable market and peasants. Economist Jahangir Alam Khan, VC, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) said this while addressing a three day- long training workshop on ‘Value Chain and Market Linkage Development’ as Chief Guest organised by Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Faculty of BAU on Friday. 80 teachers and PhD students of the Department of Agricultural Economics participated in the training. Dean Council Convener Gias Uddin Ahmed, Coordinator of Higher Education and Research Committee prof Subhash Chandra Chakraborty and prof Lutful Hasan of Cognitive and Plant Breeding Department were present as special guests in the inauguration ceremony. This training will help teachers and researchers in making future market pricing policies.
World Heart Day observed in Kishoreganj

The World Heart Day was observed with much enthusiasm and in a befitting manner in Kishoreganj on Saturday. A meeting was held at Kishoreganj Islamia Super Market premises. National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh, Kishoreganj Unit President SM Mostafa Khan Phatan presided over the meeting. It was addressed among others by National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh, Kishoreganj Unit Secretary Alhaj Jalal Uddin, its Treasurer Md Golam Faruk, Alhaj Sadrul-Ula-Maju, Alhag Asdauzzaman Khokon, A K M Osman Goni Tito, Md Jahangir Alam, Shakil Ahmed, journalist Mazhar Manna and S.M. Sarwar Jahan also spoke on the occasion. Later, a colourfull rally was brought out in the town marking the day.
Commemoration meeting of ex-councillor held

The commemoration meeting of ex-councillor of KCC’s 6 No. Ward late Sheikh Shawkat Ali who was also Ward BNP’s President was held on Thursday night at Pabla Shobuj Shangho ground in Daulatpur of Khulna city. A Doa Mahfil was also held during the meeting where local people, leaders, activists of different political parties, professional bodies and elite persons of Khulna. Sheikh Abdul Hamid, senior vice President of Shobuj Shangho Club presided over the meeting. Begum Monnuzan Sufian, MP was present as chief guest while freedom fighter Md. Nur Islam Bondo, former panel Mayor of KCC Anisur Rahman Biswas and 5No. Ward councillor who is also a teachers’ leader Sheikh Mohammad Ali were present as special guests. The chief guest Monnuzan Sufian said in her speech that those who do good deeds for the society and lead their lives honestly, they do not not die, rather they live among the people of the society as well as the country. She said adding that we all will do better for the people of the sociey and serve the people. 17No. Ward Councillor Hafizur Rahman hafiz, 25 No. Ward Councillor and also Awami League leader Ali Akbar Tipu, 6 No. Woman Councillor Shahida Begum, 6 No. Ward Awami League President SM Abdul Haque, Awami League leader Habibur Rahman Habib, younger son of late Shawkat Al also the Present Councillor of 6 No. Ward of KCC Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed Prince, Awami League leaders Mizanur Rahman Miza Tarafdar, Monirul Islam Trafdar, Abul Kalam Azad Bulu, Molla Zahid Hossain, Ibrahim Sheikh and Jubo League activists Mizanur Rahman Milton, Md. Shamsul Alam and Jahangir Hossain, among others were also present and delivered speeches in the meting.
At the end of the meeting, after-death honor was handed over to the wife of the deceased councillor Hamida Begum by Shobuj Shongho Club authority.
It is mentionable here that he former Councillor Sheikh Shawkat Ali died on December 14, 2017.
