Forkan’s counsel continues placing arguments

Advocate Abdus Salam Khan, counsel for Forkan Mallik, alleged Razakar leader from Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali on Monday placed arguments for his client for the second day.
Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 adjourned the hearing till June 14, as the defence failed to conclude their part of arguments.
Earlier on June 1, prosecutor Mukhlesur Rahman Badal concluded his arguments against the accused and pleaded for maximum punishment for Forkan.
A total of 14 prosecution witnesses, including the investigation officer, testified against Forkan.
The second tribunal on December 18, 2014, indicted Mallik and framed five specific charges of crimes against humanity including murder, rape, torture and forced conversion.
Police arrested Forkan on June 25, and he is in jail since then.
