Electronic devices recovered from train in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: Railway police recovered electric devices from a train at Bonarpara Railway Junction in Saghata upazila on Tuesday evening. Officer-in-charge of Bonarpara Railway Police Station Ahsanul Kabir said a team of GRP police was searching the train coming from Panchagarh. During the search, they found some electronic equipment in a compartment.Later, police seized those and took to the police station, he said, adding that no one could be arrested over the incident, reports UNB.
Fish fry released in 20 water bodies at Fulbari

Upazila Fisheries Department released and distributed 400 kgs fish fries in public and non-governmental 20 institutions and waterbodies at Fulbari in Dinajpur on Thursday morning. UNO Md. Abdus Salam Chowdhury officially inaugurated the ceremony by releasing the fish fry in the waterbodies of the upazila parishad. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Md. Nurul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer ATM Hamim Ashraf, Woman Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Mst. Hasina Begum, Upazila fisheries officer Mst. Maznunnahar Maya, Upazila Primary Education Officer Mst. Hasina Bhuiyan, UP Chairman Vice Principle Shah Md. Abdul Kuddus, UP Chairman Md. Manik Ratan, UP Chairman Md. Mozaffar Hossain, UP Chairman Md. Nabiul Islam, Former General Secretary of Fulbari Press Club Md. Wahidul Islam Defense, Member of Fulbari Press Club, Daily Ajkaler Khabor, Daily Tritiya Matra Correspondent and Staff Reporter at Daily Desh Maa Plabon Shuvo also addressed the brief meeting.
4 jailed for taking drugs in Chandpur
CHANDPUR: A mobile court in Sadar upazila on Tuesday sentenced four people to different jail terms on charge of possessing drugs. The Department of Narcotics Control and police conducted anti-drug drives in Palpara, Bakultala road at Puran Bazar, Ramdasdi and Modna villages. During the drives, they arrested Amin Bepary, 27, Sharif Bepary, 30, residents of Palpara at Puran Bazar of the district town, Rasel, 29, of Kalukha Beparybari at Ramdasdi village and Halim Hawlader, 45, a resident of Modna village, along with drugs. Later, they were produced before a mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Md Mahbubur Rahman, which sentenced them to jail terms. Of them, Rasel was jailed for one year, Halim for six months, and Sharif and Amin were jailed for 15 days each. In the afternoon, they were sent to jail, reports UNB.
Girl killed in Manikganj jeep plunge

A teenage girl was killed and three others were injured as a jeep plunged into a roadside ditch at Mushuria in Shibalaya upazila on Friday. The deceased was identified as Asiya Khatun, 13, daughter of Motaleb Mia of Terokhada upazila of Khulna district. Yeamin Uddoula, in-charge of Borongail Highway police camp, said the accident took place in the area around 7:30 am when a tyre of a Patuaria-bound jeep got punctured and it fell into a roadside ditch, leaving the girl dead and three others injured.
The injured were taken to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
