3 injured as ceiling fan falls at Natore school
NATORE: At least three students of Class V were injured on Monday as the ceiling fan of their classroom came loose and fell on them at a primary school in the city. The injured were identified as Sonia, Tamim and Tanzim, students of Borgasa Primary School. Witnesses said the ceiling fan of their classroom fell on the students around 10 am when they were attending a class. The injured were sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment. The headmaster of the school, Afroza Diba, said the fan had been installed during the last Ramadan. District Primary Education Officer Ali Ashraf said they were investigating the matter, reports UNB.
Youth stabbed to death over fishing business in Hossainpur

A young man was stabbed to death at Ganggatia in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj over fishing business on Monday noon. The victim was identified as Md Alam (35) son of Shahidul Islam in Dangri village under Hossainpur upazila. Hossainpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abul Hossain said that victim Alam killed by his rival Rajon and others over fishing business. The deadbody sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital mourge for autospy. A case was field in this connection with Hossainpur Police Station.

Khas land distributed to landless people in Pirojpur
PIROJPUR: The government distributed khas land among 267 landless families including Freedom Fighters (FF) of the district during the last 2017-2018 fiscal year. District administrative sources said the government earlier decided to distribute khas land among landless people as well as poor freedom fighters. A total of 49.94 acres of land have been distributed among the landless people and freedom fighters in four upazilas of the district, executive magistrate of the district M Masum Billah said, reports BSS.
