2 hemp traders jailed in Pakundia

A mobile court of Narcotics Control Department in a anti narcotics drive led by Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed at Umtola village in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj on Wednesday night. The mobile court also arrested two men old Abdul Mannan (73) and his daughter in law Rajia Akhter (30) wife of Abdul Hanif and recovered 3.200 kg hemps their possession. The court gets two men including women one and half years jailed for hemp. Convicted persons were sent to District jail.
Three fake police held in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Three fake police including an assistant sub-inspector were arrested from Kathalbaria area under Kasiadanga Police Station in the city on Wednesday evening. The arrested were identified as Abdullah Junayed, 24, son of Hassan Baqui Abdullah, Rakib, 30, son of Abdur Razzaque and Abdul Maleque, 30. Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kasiadanga Police Station, said they were trying to collect toll from a divorced woman identifying themselves as policemen. On a tip-off, a police team rushed to place of occurrence at around 7.30 pm and nabbed them red-handed. Police also seized a motorbike with sticker of police from their possession. A case was filed in this connection and the arrested were sent to court, Rabiul Islam added, reports BSS.
Deer rescued in Sreemangal

A barking deer (Maya Horeen) was rescued from a pond in Bhurbhuria Tea Estate in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar recently. Four youths, Pradip Pasi, Mintu Mridha, Nandalal Hazra and Santas Rikiasan, rescued the deer around 10 am while it got stuck in the mud of the pond. Later in the day, the deer was handed over to local Forest Department authorities. Sources at the forest department said the deer would be released to the Lawachhara National Park later. The deer might have come to the locality in search of food, they added.
School dress distributed among autistic students

 School dress were distributed among the autistic students at of Naba Jagoron from the own fund of municipality under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura district on Tuesday. Before great work a discussion meeting on how to develop the physical challenges children was held at the school premise presided over by municipality mayor Belal Hossain while upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) SM Zakir Hossain was speaking here as Chief Guest. Upazila engineer Md Rabiul Islam, assistance education officer Masiul Islam, chief advisor of the autistic school Abdul Alim Khan, social worker Mahbubur Rahman Sohel, president of the organisation Shahidul Islam, headmaster of the school Abul Kalam Azad and guardian Nazmun Nahar spoke among others in the function. A total 52 students have been given school dress to create lure of education on the following day. Mayor seeks to expand helping hands to the wealthy people in the society in his welcome speech.
