Serbia sentences Milosevic’s widow to 1 year in prison

A Serbian court has sentenced the widow of former Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic to one year in prison, some 15 years after she fled to Russia following her late husband’s ouster from power.
The Higher Court in Belgrade on Wednesday convicted Mirjana Markovic of abusing her position in 2000 when she helped allocate a state-owned apartment to her grandson’s nanny.

Putin to meet Trump adviser

Russian President Vladimir Putin will host US National Security Adviser John Bolton for talks Wednesday aimed at laying the groundwork for a summit between the Kremlin chief and Donald Trump.
“The president will host Bolton at the Kremlin,” Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. “Such talks will take place today,” he said.

Three migrants killed in Greece car crash

 Three migrants were killed and seven injured on Wednesday when a van carrying them veered off course and overturned in northern Greece, police said.
The van’s driver, thought to be a trafficker, fled the scene, two police officials added.

Fighter jet crashes in India

A Russian-designed Sukhoi fighter jet crashed Wednesday during a test flight ahead of its induction into the Indian air force, but there were no casualties, an official said.
Air force spokesman Wing Commander Arvind Sinha said both pilots ejected safely from the newly built aircraft, which crashed into a farm near Nasik in western India’s Maharasthra state. He said the cause of the crash is being investigated.

Four injured in Texas hospital blast

 At least four people were injured in an explosion outside a central Texas hospital on Tuesday, forcing the evacuation of some patients, authorities and local media said.
Police in Gatesville, about 100 miles north of Austin, would not comment on whether there were any injuries or what might have caused the blast.
The explosion appears to have happened at a construction site to expand the Coryell Memorial Healthcare System in Gatesville, Waco TV station KWTX reported, citing local officials.
