Man held with foreign currencies at Sylhet Airport

Civil aviation officials arrested a man along with foreign currencies worth around Tk 1.5 crore at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport on Wednesday. The arrestee was identified as Jafar Uddin, son of Nuruzzaman of South Jangail village in Goainghat upazila of the district. Jafar was supposed to fly by a Flydubai flight from the airport around 6:15pm.However, the civil aviation officials found the foreign currencies, including Saudi Riyal, British Pound, Oman Riyal and Dubai Dirham, while scanning his luggage around 4:40pm, said Nazrul Islam, civil aviation security officer at the airport. Later, the seized currencies were handed over to Customs while the arrestee to the Airport Police Station.
40 injured in road accident in Satkhira

At least 40 people were injured in clashes between Satkhira and Satkhira bus passengers and trucks at 9 am on Wednesday. This incident happened in front of Nawapara Kamal Naib’s house in Burhhata area on Satkhira-Assasuni road.The injured were not identified. However, the locals rescued the injured and reached the Budhata Health Complex and Satkhira Sadar Hospital. Witnesses said , a SatkhiraGamy Bus passenger bus from Ashashuni reached there at Nawaparha in Budhhatata, on the opposite side. At least 40 people were injured. Locals immediately rescued the injured and admitted to Assasuni Health Complex. Assasuni Police Station OC Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that the injured people were dispatched to the hospital with the assistance of local people after reaching the spot.
Drug trader arrested at Rajshahi

A team of RAB-5 arrested one drug trader with various drugs from his house on Monday morning. The team was led by Major A AM Asraful Islam. He was identified as Abdus Salak Helal of village Puthiamari and son of late Abu Talab Paba Upazila in the city of Rajshahi. Major Asraful said, according to source a team of RAB-5 recovered 175 gm herion, 1400 liter country-made wine, 10th knife, 20th bottle phensidyl and 53000 taka in cash.
Women workers killed in Ahmed Plywood Factory

 A woman worker, Ferdousi Begum (40) was killed in a tragic accident at Ahmed Plywood Factory in Saidpur under Nilphamari district on Wednesday. The accident took place at a factory in Kamarpukur Dhalagachha upazila . The deceased was identified as Ferdowsi Begum Wife of Nur Islam’s Wabda area under Saidpur Upazila. It is learnt that Ferdousi was working in the factory since morning. Later, the goods car transported him by noon. Ferdousi died on the spot and crashed in front of the car. After the incident, the driver Ronny escapes. On the other hand, locals accused the workers of the workers, including the body of women workers, to lock the main gate. Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body and sent it to Nilphamari Sadar Hospital for autopsy. OC of Saidpur Police Station Md Shahjahan Pasha confirmed the incident.
