One held with silver jewelery in Satkhira

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a smuggler named Rabiul Islam, 28, with seven kilograms of silver jewelery and 400 bottles of phensidyl in Satkhira’s Beikri border yesterday. He was arrested from the Kaliyan area of the border . The man arrested person is son of Lutfar Rahman of Kushkhali village of Satkhira Sadar upazila. Siddiq Hossain, a company commander of Beitri Camp of Satkhira 33 BGB, told that on Sunday, on secret information, he came to know that a smuggler with phensidyl in Kaliaani area on the opposite border was staying with Phensidyl. Later, BGB members, led by him, raided 400 bottles of Phensidyl and Rabiul. At the time, the abandoned seven-rupee silver jewelery was seized and recovered. Later, he was handed over to Satkhira Sadar Police Station. OC Maruf Ahmed said a case has been filed against Satkhira Sadar Police Station.

A view exchange meeting and oath taking on anti-corruption was held at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Saturday. A view exchange meeting and taking oath on Anti-corruption was held by students, teachers at Hatikhola High School and was visited Sotota Store at Gafargaon Upazila . On the 6th day of Corruption Prevention Week’ at Hatikhola High School , Md. Jahangir Alam, Deputy Director of Anti-corruption Prevention Commission of Mymensingh was present in the view exchange meeting as a Chief Guest. Headmaster Md. Abdus Salam of Hatikhola High School presided over the meeting. Dr.K.M.Ehsan ,President of Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee spoke in the meeting as a special guest. Vice-president -Nirupoma Debnath of Upazila Anti-corruption committee, Sultan Ahmmed ,member of upazila anti-corruption committee delivered their speeches in the meeting. General Secretary Md.Rafiqul Bashar of upazila Anti-corruption committee conducted the view exchange meeting.
Golden jubilee of Naohata High School celebrated

The golden jubilee of Naohata High School located at Maowha Union of Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district was celebrated on Sunday . Freedom Fighter Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP was present as the chief guest at the programme and urged former students to work for the school’s betterment. Upazila AL Acting President Dr. Helal Uddin, upazila AL General Secretary Babu Bidhu Bhushan Das, ex-principal of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Dr. Mati-ur- Rahman, former upazila chairman Ali Ahmed Khan Salvee; Upazila AL Joint Secretary Iqbal Hossain Jowel were also present as special guests. The function was arranged jointly organised by the school committee and former students .
