Gol leaves , Kewra wood of Sundarbans seized

 Coastguards of the Western Zone seized 15 water vessels including 5 cargoes laden with 275 Kahans Gol leaves and 2.425 CFT cut band wood of Sundarban forest from Hangsharaj canal under the Eastern Division of Sundarban forest in Bagerhat district on Thursday at noon, according to a source of the coastguards. Biswajit Saha, Public Relation officer said, Coastguards were patrolling in the Eastern Division of the forest by a ship named CGS-Bogra found a number of water vessels including 5 cargoes, 4 mechanized boats and 11 small boats in suspicious movement seized them and recovered some 275 Kahan (1,63,8,500 pieces ) Gol leaves and 2.425 thousand CFT cut band Kewra wood of Sundarban forest. According to the source, the seized Gol leaves and wood were ready to smuggle them to the different places of the country. The market price of the same Tk.1 crore 63 lakh 8 thousand 5 hundred. They were handed over to the local forest office for taking legal action.
Phensidyl, whiskey seized from Mongla
Some 13 bottles of phensidyl syrup and 7 bottles of foreign whiskey were recovered by the Coastguards of the Western Zone from Banishanta jelly area near at Mongla Sea Port on Thursday morning. Coastguards that acting on a secret information some members of the coastguards raided Banishanta jetty area.(near Mongla Port) on Thursday at 6 am and recovered the phensidyl and whiskey from there. Present market price of them is about Tk.45 thousand. The recovered phensidyl and whiskey were handed over to Dakop PS, adjacent to Sundarban forest for taking legal action. Mohiuddin Mazumdar, Lt. Commander of the Coastguards of the Western Zone disclosed that it is a part of anti- smuggling drive of Coastguards and it will continue.
One killed, 3 injured in road crash

 One man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Thana Bazar area of under Moulvibazar-Sylhet road of Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday 4 pm. The deceased was identified as Mustafijur Rahman, 42 son of Mohofil Uddin Polashbari under Gaibandha district. Witnesses said a rashly driven driver uncontrolled the Truck and hit different position upcoming an auto rickshaw. In auto rickshaw passenger’s Mustafijur dead in spot and another three serious injured. Contacted, Office-in-charge of Sadar Police station Azizur Rahman said, it is the cause of drivers negligence.
19- party processions , meetings in Baraigram

BNP-led 19 party alliance brought out processions carrying black flags and arranged meetings separately at Bonpara Pouro town on Wednesday. A meeting was held at rickshaw stand. It was presided over by BNP Upazila Secretary Md Hasrat Ali and was also addressed among others by former Member of Parliament (M.P) Principal Ekramul Alam, former U.C.C.A Chaiman Jamal Uddin Ali, Prof. Abdul Alim, Akbar Hossain, Nurul Islam Jamaat leader Prof. Abdul Hakim and Korban Ali. Another group of BNP arranged a meeting at bus stand. It was presided over by Rafikul Islam Sarder. It was also addressed among others by former Upazila Chairman Sanaullah Nur Babu’s wife Mohuya Nur Babu, BNP leader Iman Ali, Selim Hossain, Munnaf Ali.
