3 held with hemp, phensidyl in Panchagarh

Panchagarh police in a drive arrested three suspected drug traders along with three bottles of phensidyl and 100 grams of hemp from Kashimpur area of Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
Police said the arrested suspects, Abdur Razzak, Joshir Rahman and Aktarul Islam of Kashimpur village, were involved in drug peddling for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Humayun Kabir along with his team raided the area and arrested the drug peddlers along with the contraband drugs.

15 injured in BCL factional clash in Sylhet

At least fifteen people were injured including a police official in a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Beanibazar upazila here over establishing supremacy.

Jamaat-Shibir’s demo, vandalism in Sylhet

The party enforced a countrywide 24-hour hartal beginning from 6:00am Thursday protesting Supreme Court verdict that sentenced its Naib-e-Amir Delawar Hossain Sayedee to imprisonment unto death for war crimes. Witnesses said Shibir men brought out precession in Ambarkhana area of the metropolitan around 6:30am and vandalized at least four trucks, parked beside roads, there. Hartal supporters brought out another procession in Medical Road area at 7:00am, tried to picketing awhile there. Sensing lawmen’s presence, they left the scene. Light vehicles and rickshaws were seen playing at different places.

Hartal called by Jaamat -e-Islami was observed in Gazipur peacefully on Thursday . Hartal supporterss brought a procession near rail crossing in Gazipur town at 7a.m on Thursday . At this time picketers damaged some vehicles on Rajbari road and set fire poring patrol on the street. Later, police arrived on the spot and brought under control situation.
