BGB seizes pistol in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh(BGB) men seized a country made pistol in abandoned condition raiding an area under Benapole frontier at around 6:35 pm on Tuesday. Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told that tipped off the BGB personnel seized the country made pistol from Benapole frontier. None was arrested in this connection. A case was lodged with Benapole port police station.

 A view exchange meeting on anti-corruption was held at Fazlul Haque Ideal High School at Pagla Thana of Gafargaon Upazila taking oath against anti-corruption among students, teachers, with upazila Anti-corruption committee on 16th January2018.To create mass awareness among students and teachers about Anti-corruption a view exchange meeting was held at Fazlul Haque Ideal High School auditorium. Headmaster Babu Shwadesh Bandhu Sarker of Fazlul Haque Ideal High School presided over the meeting. Dr,K.M.Ehsan Advocate, president of upazila Anti-corruption committee was the chief guest in the oath and view exchange meeting. Md.Rafiqul Bashar ,vice-president of upazila Anti-corruption committee, presented the meeting. Headmaster Babu Shwadesh Bandhu Sarker of Fazlul Haque Ideal High School ,Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate,president of upazial Anti-corruption Committee,Vice-president,Nirupoma Debnath of upazila Anti-corruption Committee, Golam Mahmud Faroki Memmber of upazila Anti-corruption Committee , and Ajim Uddin Master,member of upazila Anti-corruption committee, member of School Managing Committee,political leaders, Panel Chairman Md.Jahangir Alam, Md.Sumon Fakir,of Asst.teacher of Fazlul Haque Ideal High School delivered their speeches to create awareness about Anti-corruption in the meeting. Upazila Anti-corruption President Dr. K. M. Ehsan Advocate administered the students oath about anti-corruption.
Rice seedling transplanter machine gains popularity
PANCHAGARH : The rice seedling transplanter machine has gained popularity among farmers at all the five upazilas of Panchagarh district in the last few years.Local people said farmers in the locality did not know about the use of the machine only a few years ago, but now they are using the equipment full- fledgedly as the department of agricultural extension has extended assitances to the cultivators.Upazila agriculture officer of Debiganj Md Abdulla-Al-Mamun said transplantation of Boro seedling using rice transplanter machines helps the farmers to cultivate more land in less time as well as with less labour achieving uniform spacing and plant density and placing of desired number of seedling.”Production of Boro paddy increases annually because of the use of the machine,” he said. At least eight bigha of land can be brought under Boro planting with the machine in a day and only half litre octen as fuel is needed for one bigha of land’s seed planting, he added, reports BSSS.
