One injured in Sylhet gas explosion

An official of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited (RPGCL) was injured in an explosion at the organizations plant in Gopalganj under Sylhet on Friday . Witnesses said the explosion occurred when Monowar Ahmed, field manager of the gas plant, lit a match to check a leaking petrol supply line on Friday afternoon. Monowar received serious burn injuries in the ensuing explosion. He was whisked off to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for treatment. Gopalganj police station Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Haque Shibli said a team of the law enforcement officials had already visited the location where the incident took place.

Enrich Football Tournament held in Monohordi

With the financial support of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), DAM Foundation (DFED) organised the Enrich Football Tournament at Shukundi Union of Monohordi upazila under Narsingdi district yesterday. The tournament was held at the Narandi China Friendship Complex ground of the upazila. In this, Ward No 6 of the Shukundi Union won by defeating Ward No 7. At the end of the tournament, MP of Narsingdi Monohordi-Belabo constituency Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun gave champion trophy to the winning team. Among others, Monohardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Shahid Ullah, Municipal Mayor Aminur Rashid Sujon, Head of DFED Md Asaduzzaman, Shukundi Union chairman Sadikur Rahman Shamim were present also. Head of DFID Asaduzzaman said, DFED’s Enrich program is implementing various activities to improve youth society.
Laptop Distribution at 157 School in Gafargaon

Laptop has been distributed at 157 Primary School of Gafargaon under Mymensingh. The Local MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel distributed these Laptop at Shilpokola Academy on Wednesday noon as a chief guest. UNO Dr.Shamim Rahman was in the chair in this function. Upazila Chairman Asraf Uddin Badal, Pouro Mayor S.M.Ikbal Hussain Sumon, Vice-chairman – Moniruzzaman, Abdul Ahad Khan, OC of Gafargaon Thana , Education Officer (in-charge) -Nurul Islam, Asst. Education Officer- Shrevas Chandra Pal, chairman of different Unions, and AL leaders were also present in this function. On the other hand, MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel inaugurated Pre-paid Metering work of Gafargaon Electricity Sale and Distribution Department in the morning. 3 held with Yaba, Phensidyl in Magura
MAGURA: Detectives in a drive arrested three suspected drug peddlers along with Yaba tablets and Phensidyl syrup from Mathpara in the district town on Saturday night. Tipped off that a gang of drug peddlers was selling drugs at Mathpara, a team of Detective Branch (DB) conducted a drive there and arrested Jahir Mollah, Palash Biswas and Habibur along with 14 pieces of Yaba pills and three bottles of Phensidyl syrup. A case was filed with Magura Police Station, said officer-in-charge of the police station Mustafizur Rahman, reports UNB.
