Advocacy meet on FP Service Week held in K’ganj

Family Planning Department arranged an advocacy meeting on Family Planning Sevice & Publicity Week- 2017-18 at Kishoreganj Collectorate Conference room on Thursday morning.Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas attented as chief guest while Deputy Director Abu Taha Md. Enamur Rahman in the chair.ADC (Gen) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil, Acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Mujibur Rahman and Suparintendent & Deputy Director of Kishoreganj 250 Beded General Hospital Dr. Golam Mowla were attended as Chief Guest.It was addressed among others by Assistant Director Dr Roshon Akhter Jahan, Dr. Halima Akhter, Dr Hosne-are-Begum, District Press Club Presidnet Mostafa Kamal, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Former Press Club President A.K Nasim Khan, The Daily Shatabdir Kantho Editor Ahmed Ullah, journalist Ashraful Islam, Assistant Medical Officer Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Family Planning AMO Dr. Danesh Pondit. At least 60 persons including journalist, Doctor, Health Assistant, Nurse joined the advocacy meeting.

Barai Akata Juba Unnayan Samiti organized distribution of winter clothes among 1200 colder poor people 2no Aladipur Up of Fulbari upazila In Dinajpur on Sunday evening. A discussion was arranged at Baraihat Chattar with President of Barai Akata Juba Unnayan Samiti, Shahdat Hosain in the chair and general secretary Kamruzzaman’s execution. Upazila Awami League President Haydar Ali Shah attended the discussion as Chief Guest. UP chairman Muzaffar Hossain Sarkar, social worker Abu Hena Md. Mostafa Kamal, former student leader Mizanur Rahman Bhuttu, Treasurer Fizur Rahman, Manik Chowdhury, Jobair Hossain and Asisur Rahman addressed the event as guests.
15 labourers injured as bus plunges into Rajshahi ditch
RAJSHAHI: At least 15 labourers were injured in a road accident at Hargram Natunpara in the city early Wednesday. mPolice said the accident took place when the bus, carrying the labourers of Aman Jute Mill, plunged into a roadside ditch after the driver lost his control over the steering while lighting a cigarette, leaving all the passengers injured. On information, a team of divers from Rajshahi Fire Service and Civil Defense appeared on the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, said Farhad Hossain, station officer of the fire service, reports UNB.
SSC candidate killed in Khulna
KHULNA: A student of SSC candidate was hacked to death in Chanmari Bazar area in the city on Tuesday night.The deceased was identified as Khalilur Rahman Siam,17, a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) candidate of Rupsha High School of the city. Siam was suddenly attacked in the Chanmari Bazar area at 7.45 pm by a gang of 5 to 6 youths and indiscriminately chopped him, locals said.He was rushed to Khulna Medical College and Hospital where on duty doctors declared Siam dead.Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in Charge (OC) of Khulna Police Station, said Siam might have been killed by local youths due to previous enmity centering establishing supremacy over the area. A case was filed with Khulna Police Station in this connection, reports BSS.
