‘Pavement for Pedestrians’, campaign starts in Saidpur

Pavement for Pedestrians,’ campaign of 5 day-long has started in Saidpur organised by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Bazlur Rashid on Tuesday. To ensure the smooth movement of the pedestrians and to clear the footpath from occupancy, a campaign was started in Saidpur, Nilphamari The inauguration of the awareness program was held at Saidpur Pilot High School and was inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Bazlur Rashid. The other guests attended the awareness campaign were Mayor of Saidpur Municipality, Md Amjad Hossain Sarkar, Former Mayor Akhtar Hossain Badal, General Secretary of Pouro Awami League Mozammel Haque, President of the Saidpur Bonik Somiti. Idris Ali, Volunteer Organization ‘Amader Priyo Saidpur’, Head Master of Pilot High School Anwarul Islam, Municipal Councilors, Teachers, Journalists and people of various social activists.
Child Right Week begins in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI: The ‘Child Right Week-2017’ was inaugurated here Wednesday with a view to ensuring the security and rights of all children. Bangladesh Shishu Academy of Narsingdi has chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the week in the district. The programmes include dis cussions, cultural function, art competitions, rally of the deprived children, bringing out processions and prize giving ceremony. The inaugural function was held at collectorate office premises. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Subash Chandra Biswas inaugurated the week as chief the guest. Presided over by M Abrar Tahsin, a student of class one and artist of Shishu Academy, Narsingdi, it was also addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner(General) Mozammal Hoque ,District Child Affairs officer Khalilur Rahman Shojib and journalist Monjil-e Milat. On the first day of the week Bangladesh Shishu Academy Narsingdi with the presence of street children organized a discussion on ‘the street children and their rehabilitation.’ DC Dr Subash Chandra Biswas said children are the valuable asset of the country, reports BSS.
