Drug peddler couple was fined in a mobile court for eight months in Sailkupa of Jhenaidah Saturday. Upazila nirbahi officer, also an executive magistrate of Sailkupa Usman Gani conducted the mobile court. The arrested were Ayub Ali, son of late Chand Ali and his wife Parvin Akter of Ramchandrapur village of Sailkupa upazila. Jhenaidah narcotics department inspector Rasel Ali said, acting on a tip off, the mobile court led by UNO Usman Gani conducted the drive in the house of the couple and seized 250 grams of ganja from their possession. Later the mobile court awarded eight months imprisonment to each. UNO Usman Gani said, the couple was involved in drug peddling for a long time in the locality. They were arrested by the law enforcers recently and released in bail after suffering five days in the prison. Being released from the prison, they were once again involved in the same evil doing.

3 drug peddlers held with wine in Sherpur

Three drug peddlers were held with 100 bottles of Indian wine and Tk77,000 at Jhulagoan area in Sreebardi upazila of Sherpur yesterday.The arrestees are identified as Masum Hasnain(37) son of Anowar Monsur at Kazipara , Md Al Amin (22) son of Kurban Ali at Ulipur in Modhupur upazila of Tangail district and Habibur Rahman(38) son of late Yesuddin at Phulhari in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district. Karnajhura BGB camp incharge Md Abdullah said, on secrete information , they raided at Jhulagoan area of Sreebardi upazila and arrested the three with wine and money. Officer in charge of Sreebardi thana Md Rezaul Haque confirmed about it.
Tech education plays role to reduce unemployment

Professor Dr Mustafizur Rahman, Chairman, Bangladesh Technical Education Board has emphasized the need of technical education to reduce unemployment problem in the country. ‘The whole world is now developed its manpower through technical education,’ he added. Prof Mustafiz was speaking at reception ceremony welcoming to newly admitted students at Jessore Muslim Aid Institute of Technology on Thursday. Arif Noor, Principal of the institution chaired the programme. It was attended among others by Noor-e- Elaihi, deputy secretary, Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Bijoy Kumar Ghosh, deputy inspector of the board and Mahbubul Alam Lovelu, executive editor, Daily Spondon.
BGB recovers medical equipment
Border Guard Bangladesh men seized smuggled medical equipment wroth around Tk 21, 76,250 raiding an abandoned house near Benapole check post on Friday orning.Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told that tipped off BGB personnel led by Habilder Aziz Ahmad seized the medical equipment smuggled from India to Bangladesh at around 10am on Friday. The goods were deposited to the customs after filing a case with Benapole port police station. None was arrested in this regard.
