Smuggler arrested along with skin of deer

Saddam Hossain (22), a smuggler was arrested along with a refined skin of spotted deer of Sundarban forest by the police from Kadamtala area under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Friday night. Police said that acting on secret information policed of Sharankhola PS raided Uttar Kadamtala village situated by the side of Rayenda-Tafalbari Regional Highway within Rayenda Union under the Upazila at the night (at 9 pm) and arrested Saddam Hossain from there while he was going to Rayenda by a hired motor cycle as a co-rider. Then the police searched his bag and recovered a refined skin of deer from it. Md Abdul Jalil, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS disclosed, in this connection police registered a case with the PS against arrested Saddam Hossain and one Anwar Hossain as the plaintiff under the Preservation Act of Wild Animals. He added, Anwar Hossain is absconding and police is trying to arrest him. The Officer-in-charge further disclosed, this gang has been engaged in hunting deer and other wild animal of Sundarban forest and smuggling their flesh and skins for a long.
Dwelling house gutted
A dwelling house belonging to one Rafiq Fakir of village Charkunia within Kalatala Union Parishad under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district was gutted when the meter of the electricity (of the house) was blasted on Friday evening.Sources added that ungipara fire service station and the locals that in the evening the meter was suddenly blasted and the dwelling house caught fire and within moments the fire went out of control. The locals tried their best to the fire under control, but in vain. Being informed of the matter a fire unit of Tungipara left the station for the spot. But before the arrival of the fire unit the house with its all belongings was completely burnt to ashes. According to a primary assessment, the loss of fire is Tk.3 lakh.
Veterinary medical team formed in Rampal

Rampal Upazilla Livestock Department with the assistance of Upazila Administration has formed a veterinary medical team recently so that the people of this area can buy safe and sound sacrificial animal for Eid-ul-Azha . It is widely known that some dishonest businessmen use different kinds of harmful steroids to fatten their cattle to gain more benefit avoiding the thinking of the health hazards of the common people . For this, this team will work up to the Eid night to check the sacrificial animal. The people of this area are happy to form such team here and expect their presence in every important market to check the sacrificial animal. Mentionable that the same team was also formed in the last year before Eid-ul-Azha.
Palm seed plantation inaugurated
A palm seed plant program was inaugurated in Rampal on Thursday organised jointly by Upazila Administration and Primary Education Directorate. MP of Rampal-Mongla Constituency Alhaj Talukder Abdul Khaleq was present there as chief guest and inaugurated the program. Upazilla Vice Chairman Sheikh Moajjem Hossain, Upazilla AL Secretary Alhaj Jamil Hasan Jamu, Mohila Vice Chairman Hosneara Mily, Upazilla Health and Family Planning Officer Md. Masum Iqbal, Rampal Thana Officer-in-Charge Md. Belayet Hossain, Principal of Rampal College Sk. Saidur Rahman (Acting), Livestock Officer Md Jahidur Rahman, Upazilla Engineer Goljar Hossain, Upazila Fishery Officer Ripon Kanti Ghosh , Juboleague president Nurul Haque Lipon, Higher Education Officer Md. Sahajan Mia, Primary Education Officer Saiful Islam, Prof. Mizanur Rahman(Ret.), Lecturer Mostofa Kamal Polash, CL president Sk. Hafizur Rahman and secretary Sk. Saadi were also present in the function . On that day, fifteen thousand palm seed has been planted in different area of Rampal participating the students of all primary schools in the Upazilla.
