Youth electrocuted in Gafargaon

A youth named Ahammad (16) has been electrocuted at Gafargaon Upazila under Mymensingh district at 9 am on Saturday . The deceased was identified as Ahammad (16) son of Aker Ali ,was the resident of Janmajoy village of Saltia union under Gafargaon Upazila. It is learnt that the line of electricity has been disconnected of the house adjacent to former UP chairman Shahidur Rahman of Saltia union on Friday night by heavy wind . A local electrician name Ahammad went to connect electricity to that house The fatal incident took place this morning when Ahammad was repairing the line climbing up the electric pillar . During electricity connection he came to contact with a live electric wire and he was critically injured. Later, he was rescued and was taken him to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex .The doctor on duty declared him dead.
2 ‘extortionists’ lynched in B’baria
BRAHMANBARIA: Two suspected extortionists were lynched and another was injured by an angry mob at Bholanagar village in Bancharampur upazila of the district on Tuesday evening. One of the deceased was identified as Jibon Mia. Bancharampur Police Station officer-in-charge Angshu Kumar Deb said three robbers went to the house of Amir Mia of the village to collect their demanded Tk 5 lakh extortion in the afternoon. Being informed, angry locals gave the trio a severe thrashing, leaving two of them dead on the spot and severely injured another. The injured is Kamal Mia, son of Ratan Mia of Gosaipur village in Nabinagar upazila. Jibon Mia was accused in several robbery cases, police claimed, reports UNB.
