Installation of Govt Employees Co-ordination Committee held

Bangladesh Government Employees Co-ordination Committee, Kishoreganj District Unit arranged the installation ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers at Local Co-operative Commiunity Center in the town on Saturday.State Minister for Labour & Menpower Mujibul Haque Channue M.P attended as Chief Guest while its Unit President Md. Abdur Rashid in the chair.Engineer Rejowan Ahamed Tofique M.P and Senior District and Session Judge Freedom Fighter Md. Mhahabubul Islam attended as special guest. It was addressed among others by Acting D.C and D.S Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, Poura Mayor Md. Pervas Miah, Deputy Director of Agriculture Md. Shafiqul Islam, PWD Executive Engineer Md. Azmol Haque, Additional Police Super Nazmul Islam, Women Leader Bilkis Begum, General Secretary of Government Employees Co-ordination Committee Moneruzzaman Al-Azad and Abdur Rahman.
Solo photo exhib of Sakkhor held at Barisal

A day-long photography exhibition captioned as ‘ I See, Eye See’ of Ahamed Nurul Hasan Sakkhor held at Barisal Reporters Unity on Saturday. Prof. Muhammad Ziaul Haque, Chairman of Barisal Education Board inaugurated the exhibition. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by out going BRU president Anisur Rahaman Swapan.
Prodip Kumar Ghosh Putul freedom fighter, Nurul Alam Farid and Prof. Sultana Lily, parents of Sakkhor, SM Imanul Hakim, principal B M College, Zakir Hossain, secretary Barisal Press Club, Advocate Ismail Hossain Negaban, former president of district bar association, were addressed the inaugural ceremony as special guests. Total 36 photos of different subjects were presented at the exhibition and a brochure also published on this occasion. `This was my first solo exhibition. I shoot those photos in home and abroad from 2008-2017 to express my personal thoughts by using natural lights, along with special framing and style’, Sakkhor told. Huge numbers of visitors, artists, photographers, elites, socio-cultural activists and students visiting the exhibition appreciated the works of the photographer.
One held with arms, ammo in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested an alleged arms peddler with three pistols, four magazines and 10 bullets from Kamadpara village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Friday. The arrested was identified as Md Arjed Ali, 48, son of Md Sajjad Ali of Atrashia village under Shibganj upazila.RAB said, acting on secret information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Rajshahi Mollapara camp conducted a raid in the area and arrested Arjed with the arms and ammunition. Later, the arrested was handed over to the Shibganj Thana police with a case, reports BSS.
