60 kgs venison of deer recovered

A gunny bag loaded with 60 kgs chopped venison, 3 heads and 3 skins of spotted deer of Sundarban forest was recovered by the forest department from Dimerchar area within Supati forest office under Sharankhola forest range in the Eastern Division of Sundarban forest on Thursday afternoon. Forest Department sources said, a gang of organised poachers hunted 3 deer from Dimerchar area under Supati forest office, chopped them after slaughtering and put their flesh, heads and skins in a gunny bag for smuggling the same else where.
 On the day in the after noon acting on a secret information a contingent of the forest guards led by Abul Hashem, Officer-in-charge of Kachikhali forest sanctuary and raided Dimerchar area. At that time the organized poachers managed to flee away into the deep forest.

BGB seizes fish worth Tk 10.85m

Border Guard Bangladesh men seized a consignment of two truck loaded with Indian ruhi fish worth Tk 10.85 million imported from the neighbouring country over invoicing, Lt Col Matiur Rahman, Director, 26 Border Guard Battalion informed the The New Nation. The BGB battalion chief said that tipped off the BGB men seized the trucks loaded with ruhi fish that was imported over in voicing by an importer on Wednesday. ‘Declaring 16 metric tons the importer imported 22 metric tons of ruhi from India,’ he added. The fish was deposited to Benapole customs on Wednesday night after filing a divisional case.
World Breastfeeding Week observed

Terre des hommes Foundation(Tdh) an swiss based international NGO working for the welfare of children in Bangladesh since 40 years took part of the World Breast feeding week by organizing an orientation on Thursday at their Kurigram office training centre . During this orientation day, the female staff of Tdh working at the community level and in the facilities (Special Nutrition Center and Out Patient Department) was invited to share their knowledge about breastfeeding. Used to work on these issues daily, they took advantage of this day to review key elements of breastfeeding (importance of colostrum breast feeding, importance/advantages of breast feeding, importance of continued breast feeding).
