3 Shibir activists arrested in Sherpur

Police arrested three shibir activists on Friday evening while they were holding secret meeting in Gazir Khamar union to conduct destructive activities in the area. The arrested sibir activists are Keramat Ali 24, Rashedul Islam, 28 and Mahfuzur Rahman, 30. Additional Police Super of Sherpur Md. Mohibul Islam said a case was filed against them in this connection.
Fire guts properties in Barisal

A devastating fire gutted properties at Jhawtala Second Lane in Barisal city on early Sunday.Local people and fire service sources said a fire instigated from the locked house of Benu Majumdar, a tenant of Akbar Mia in the area, at about 11:00 PM Saturday. Fire service was called immediately and they extinguished the flame after 12:10 AM Sunday.Ayesha Khanam, one of the resident in the area said, two tin-shed houses gutted fully by fire.Md. Alauddin, senior station officer Fire Service and Civil Defense Barisal station, said the fire probably instigated from electric short circuit. The probable causes of fire could not be assumed immediately as the residents of the locked house were out of station, the fire service officer told.
Drug peddler held with 313 bottles of phensidyl

A team of Rapid Action Battelion (RAB)-12 of Bogra conducted a drive on a tip-off at Jaleshwaritola area in Bogra town on Friday evening and arrested a drug peddler with 313 bottles of phensidyl, a private car, and a cell phone from the area. The arrested drug peddler was identified as Akramul Haque alliase Suman, 30, son of Kamal Ahmad of Ranirhat Mondal para under Shazahanpur upazila in Bogra district.RAB source said that Squad Commandar Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Moshiur Rahman Mondal led the drive and arrested the drug peddler red handed with phensidyl, car, cell phone and sent him to sadar police station on filing a case on narcotic act. Contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of sadar police station AHM Foyjur Rahman said that a case was filed against the drug peddler on narcotic act with the police station on Friday night and sent him to court on Saturday morning and the court sent him to jail.
Unidentified body recovered in Bogra
Dead body of an unidentified person was recovered from Fatki area under Shazanpur upazila of Bogra district on Saturday. Police said that the deceased aged 32-35 years might be killed by unidentified miscreants few days back and left him under the bridge and after sensing the dead body local people informed police and police recovered the dead body. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shazanpur police station Shazanpasa said the dead body was sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH)’s morgue for autopsy and a murder case will be filed with the police station.
