Housewife commits suicide in Baraigram

A housewife Ruma Khatun (28) committed suicide in Baraigram of Natore district. Ruma is a house wife of Mizanur Rahman of the village Parkul and a daughter of Yusub Ali of the village Kamardah under Baraigram upazila. She took poison due to family feud in her husband’s house on Saturday in absence of other members of the family. Then, she was taken to Bonpara Amina Hospital. But she died on Sunday night under treatment. The dead body was sent to Natore hospital morgue for autopsy.
Two killed in bus-auto rickshaw collision in Mymensingh

Two youngmen were killed as a bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Nandail upazila in Mymensingh on Friday. The deceased are identified as Shakib (18) and Shakil, in his early twenties, both are resident of the village of Rajgati of the upazila. They used to run business of ducklings. Nandail Highway Police Officer-In-Charge Ohiuzzaman said two young men carrying ducklings in a CNG-run auto rickshaw were traveling to the market on Friday morning. The auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound bus as it neared Kanarampur area of Galahar at about 6am and left two of the men died on the spot. The OC said police went to the spot and seized the bus. However, the bus driver fled from the spot immediately after the accident.
23 sacks rice seized , dealer held in Nandail

Nandail thana police seized 23 sacks of rice and detained food dealer Aklima Khatun from Longerpar Bazar under Sherepur union in Nandail upazila on Thursday. It’s learnt that government has introduced ten taka kg food programme for poor people so that people can purchase easily where dealer Aklima Akter sold 23 sacks of rice in the black market. By taking information Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Tamim Al Yeamin went to spot with forces where he seized 23 sacks of rice and detained dealer Aklima Akter.
Bomb exploded in Monirampur

Miscreants exploded a crude bomb at Palashi of Rohita union council under Monirampur upazila on Friday night. Locals said 5 to 6 riders of two motorbikes led by Babul and Jewel fled the scene after throwing two hand bombs in front of a business outlet owned by M Mahmud at Palashi at around 8pm on Friday. One of the bombs was not exploded as it fell in the clay. Confirming the information, sub inspector Iqbal of Monirampur police station told that the unexploded bomb was defused by the police. None was arrested in this connection.
Father arrested for killing daughter in Morrelganj

A father named Amir Ali Shaikh (40) of village Putikhali within Putikhali Union Parishad under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district allegedly killed his only daughter Sadia, a 6- moth old daughter. The brute father was arrested by the police of Morrelganj PS on the same day. Police said, Amir Ali Shaikh was sleeping in his house on Thursday night with his wife and daughter Sadia. But in the early hours of Friday , the baby began to cry without any interval. As a result, the brute father felt disturbed and became furious.
Then he woke up, took the baby, went out of the bed room and threw her into a near by canal named Ekadharia. The other relatives of the baby followed the brute father. But before their arrival at the place occurrence the baby was drowned in the water. Then they searched the canal, but no trace of her was found. Later the dead body was found floating in the canal. In this connection Neamat Ali Shaikh, brother of Amir Ali Shaikh and paternal uncle of the deceased baby registered a murder case with Morrelganj PS against the killer father. Rashedul Alam, OC, Molrrelganj disclosed, after killing the daughter while the brute father was trying to flee away he was arrested by the police from the adjacent village Zoka. He added, police recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy. Arrested Amir Ali Shaikh married 2 years ago and his wife gave birth to the baby only 6 months ago.
