Cancelling continuous public exam demanded

On Monday morning general students in different institutions in Jhenidah formed a human chain in front of Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) resident in Jhenidah protesting and demanding cancellation continuous public exam across the country. Students said, it is very difficult to appear at the exam without break. They claimed that the authority is imposing the blame of leaking out questions on the students instead of taking stern action of the concerned ones. They observed the programme from 11-00 to 12-00 on Monday. If this decision is not rejected they will boycott exam in a body.
Indian clothes recovered in C’nawabganj

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered different types of Indin clothes worth Tk. 6,75,250 from frontier Telkupi area under Shibganj upazila of the district on Saturday night. BGB said, a team of BGB of Telkupi Border Out Post (BOP) on secret information conducted a raid in a field of the area and seized the clothes in an abandoned condition at around 11-30 pm. The seized Indian clothes included saris, three pieces, bed sheets, than cloth and other dresses of men, women and children. The seized clothes were deposited with Chapainawabganj customs.
Support Center for women, children opens in Barisal

Bangladesh Police opened a Victim Support Center (VSC) for the women and children opened at Kotwali police station under Barisal Metropolitan Police on Tuesday. The center was opened in order to address the issue of ‘Violence against Women and Children’ rampant in the Bangladesh society to introduce women friendly policing system and to ensure greater empowerment, security and total welfare of women in Barisal Metropolitan area. The center was constructed with a two-storied building at the cost of Tk 1.13 core funded by UNDP and UKAID on 5 decimal of land and inaugurated by Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, additional inspector general of police (CID).
Jamaat leader arrested in Sylhet

Members of police arrested a Jamaat leader from Kazolsha area on Monday noon. The arrestee is identified as Jalal Ahmed, chairman of Jalalabad Union Parisha and secretary of Sadar Upazila Jamaat. OC Gousul Hossain of Jalalabad Police Station said several cases were filed against Jalal.
