Nilphamari Class-3 employees observe work abstention

As part of countrywide programme, third class employees of Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner’s office staged whole daylong work abstention on Wednesday. They also brought out procession and arranged meeting at the collectorate building premises demanding realization of 2 points charter of demands.Presided over by Alhaj Shamsul Huq, head assistant of treasury section also president of Nilphamari unit of Bangladesh collectorate Assistants Association, the meeting was addressed among others by Anwarul Huq Mintu office assistant of SA section, Shafiqul Islam, office assistant, education, Delwar Hossain, head assistant of establishment section and others.Speakers in the meeting categorically demanded realization of 2-point charter of demands like change of their port folio (name of profession) and re arrangement of pay scale.As president of the meeting, Alhaj Shamsul Huq announced further three days agitation programme from 7July-9July including whole days work abstention.

3 snatchers arrested in Kurigram

Three snatchers were arrested at Rajarhat upazila in Kurigram district while they were trying to snatch a motor bike early hours on Saturday. Locals and police sources said, one Hamidul Haque, a trader of Jatinerhat under Ulipur upazila was going towards Teesta riding a motor bike taking sehri in the month of Ramadan. When he reached at Sadhur Bazar area of Singerdabri, a group of snathchers attacked him. They snatched Tk. thirty thousand under his possession with the motoe bike.Hearing his hue and cry locals rushed to the spot along with police on patrol and arrested the snatchers.
