Month-long Trade Fair in Ctg begins today

A month long Bangladesh International Trade and Export Fair-2016 (BITEF-2016) will begin in the city today( Thursday ) with the participation of India, Pakistan and Thailand. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will formally inaugurate the fair on Abhani field in city’s Halishahar area at 11 am.
Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CMCCI) President Khalilur Rahman disclosed this at a press conference held its auditorium this afternoon. “CMCCI is going to arrange the International Trade and Export Fair for the third time in the country,” he said, adding that over 200 stalls including 10 mega, eight medium and 18 standard pavilions, banks and insurance institutions have been set up at the fair covering an area of near one and a half lakh square feet.Besides, ambassadors of different countries would visit the fair during the time and seminars and roundtable meetings would be arranged in the fair which will be opened for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm every day.
Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam B.Sc, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, City Mayor AZM Nasir Uddin, among others, will attend the function as special guests, AM Mahbub Chowdhury, co-convenor of the BITEF-2016 said.. Convenor of the fair Mohammad Anisuzzaman Bhuiyan, CMCCI directors Amdus Salam, Shahab Uddin Alam, Enamul Hoque and Sultana Shirine Akter were present, among others, at the press conference.
