View exchange meet on anti-corruption at Gafargaon

A view exchange meeting on anti-corruption was held at the office of Gafargaon Bazar Businessmen Samity recently. Upazila Anti-corruption Committee officials and Gafargaon Bazzar Businessmen Somiti at Gafargaon under Mymensingh took part in the meeting recently. To create awareness agaist corruption among people from all walks of life attended the meeting. Alhaj Munjur Mea, President , Gafargaon Bazar Businessmen Samity ,presided over the view exchange meeting . On behalf of the Bazar Samity , Md. Shahjahan Mea, Najmul Haq Dhali Chairman,Saltia Union parishad, businessman Akram Hossain Mukta delivered speeches on corruption. On the other hand, Ajim Uddin Master ,member of upazila Anti-corruption committee, Sultan Ahmed, member of Upazila Anti- corruption committee , H. Kabir Titu , General Secretary of Upazila Anti-corruption committee delivered on corruption. Adv Dr.K.M.Ehsan ,President , Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Committee was the Chief Guest in the view exchange meeting. He urged the businessmen to help the Anti- corruption committee to remove corruption from the society and requested them to work creating awareness against corruption on own position. Golam Mahmud Faroki, member of Upazila Anti- corruption Committee conducted the meeting.
JU to go two- day weekend from Dec 1

The authority of Jahangirangar University (JU) is going to maintain two days weekend from December 1 this year confirmed JU registrar Abu Bakar Siddique. From Dec 1, the working hour will be 8.30 am to 4.00 am while it was 7.30am to 2.00pm in previous. Abu Bakar Siddidque said, working hour has been extended through working day has abated. Mentionable, this decision was approved on the syndicate meeting held on October 21. Secretary of JU Teachers Association (JUTA) Bashir Ahmed said, we hopeful that such excellent decision would have a good impact on research sphere of teachers community.
Properties worth Tk 10 lakh gutted at Dublar Char

Properties worth Tk 10 lakh were gutted when a grocery cum stationary shop at Office Killa of Dublar Char dry fish village under the Eastern Division of Sundarban forest, attached to the Bay of Bengal in the early hours of Thursday. According to the forest department and the fishermen, the shop belonging to one Abul Hossain of Tushkhali under Mathbaria Upazila in Pirojpur district caught fire in the early hours of Thursday when the owner of the shop was sleeping in it. Fishermen of the Char noticed the flame of fire, rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish it with the help of forest guards, but in vain. As a result, the shop with its all belongings (rice, pulses, oil etc.) including cash Tk.1.10 lakh were burnt to ashes. The loss of fire is estimated at Tk.10 lakh.
Eve teaser sentenced for stalking college girl at Wazirpur

A mobile court on Monday afternoon sentenced a youth for stalking a college girl at Wazirpur upazila of Barisal district.Golam Sarwar, officer in charge of Wazirpur police station, said Jhumur Bala, upazila nirbahi officer led the mobile court.The court examining witnesses and evidences sentenced accused Sajib Haoladar, 26, son of Jahangir Haoladar of Wazirpur municipal town, to one-year imprisonment on Monday afternoon.Sajib since long days harassing a girl student of Wazirpur B N Khan College and the victim stopped attending classes to avoid the stalker.Then mother of the victim on Sunday night lodged written complain against stalker Sajib with Wazirpur police station, Police arresting stalker Sajib on Monday morning produced before the mobile court and court sentenced the accused on Monday afternoon.
