Fruit Tree Exhibition inaugurated in Baraigram

A 3-day long Fruit Tree Exhibition was inaugurated formally in Baraigram of Natore district on Monday. On the occasion, a function was held . Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ruhul Amin presided over the function. Natore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Khalilur Rahman was present as a chief guest at the inagural function and he inagurated Fruit Tree Exhibition cutting a red ribbob. Also, Bonpara Pouro Mayor KM Jakir Hossain, Upazila AL President Abdul Jalil Pramanik and Principal Abdur Razzak Mollah were present as special guests in sthe function. Agriculture Department with different organizations and people set up 35 stalls showing projects. At end of the function, the chief guest and othe special guests obsered the stalls moving aside. Then, the chief guest distributed 450 saplings of fruit trees among the institutions like schools, colleges, madrashas and mosques. Md Khalilur Rahman as a chief guest says at the function that local people will get benefit visiting this tree exhibition in case of fruit production. Because, visitors will gain knowledge about different techniques of fruit production.
Orientation on Community Infrastructure Management
GAIBANDHA: A day-long orientation on Community Infrastructure Management and Maintenance was held in the district on Thursday. District Office of Social Development Foundation (SDF) funded by the World Bank and Government of Bangladesh arranged the orientation for its district and cluster level staff under Nutun Jibon Livelihood Improvement Project (NJLIP). The objective of the orientation was to refresh the staff so they could disseminate the acquired knowledge at the grassroots level community to keep the rural infrastructures like road, culvert and drain built by the SDF between 2004 and 2012 functional in the days to come. Deputy general manager (Technical), SDF Dhaka Office, M. Kamal Bashar, regional manager (Technical and Environment) M. Asadur Rahman and team leader Golam Mostafa conducted the training sessions as resource persons, said Shariful Azad, district officer, reports BSS.
View exchange meet on stoppage of cattle smuggling

Rangpur Regional Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Brigadier General Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury in an opinion exchanging meeting with the cattle traders on Sunday asked them not to cross border to avoid border killing. He was speaking as chief guest in an opinion exchanging meeting arranged by the 9 battalion of BGB at the battalion head quarters. Among others, Rajshahi sector commander of BGB Colonnel Md. Matiur Rahman, commanding officer of 9 BGB battalion Lieutenant Colonnel SM Abul Ehsan, commanding officer of 59 BGB battalion Lieutenant Colonnel Hasan Morshed and deputy commanding officer of 9 BGB battalion Major Golam Md. Sarwar were present in the meeting. The chief guest said, BGB has been remaining alert to avert any border killing. He asked the cattle traders to obey the rules of the country so that no untoward incident like border killing can occur ahead of the holy Eid-Ul-Azha.
