Free health camp held at Kulaura

Udar Diganta Sahitya Sangsad and Pathagar of Boiddoshason, Kulaura under greater Sylhet Divn organised a day-long free health camp recently. Free blood grouping and distribution of card among hundreds of people, distribution of anti hook-worm tablets, max and cream include the services . Almost all concerned officials, the program was initiated by Salam Mahmud, the founder of Udar Diganta Sahitya Sangsad & Pathagar and directed by Muslim Aid Community Hospital, Brahman Bazar, Kulaura. A number of local elite including UP Chairman Abdul Malik, Muslim Aid Hospital Administrative Officer Belal Ahmed Chowdhury, HPO Saiful Islam, Aiub Ali, Jamal Hussain, Udardiganta’s President Mujir Uddin, UP member Abdul Malik Fazlu and members of the Udar diganta attended the function, says a press release.

Fake cop arrested from marriage ceremony at Agoiljhara

A fake official of Police Bureau of Investigation was handed over to police on early Tuesday after giving mass beating during marrying a college girl by identifying himself as a sub-inspector of PBI at Bashail village under Rajihar union of Agoiljhara upazila in Barisal district. The cheater was identified as Utpal Mandol, 38, son of Nirapod Mandol, from Bijpai village under Moksedpur upazila of Gopalganj district. Monirul Islam, officer in charge of Agoiljhara police station, said the arrested cheater Utpal Mandol sent to jail on Tuesday afternoon after producing before judicial magistrate court at Barisal. Sub Inspector Enamul Huq, complainant of the case lodged in this connection, said Utpal identifying himself as an SI of PBI arranged to marry a college student daughter of Debendranath Munshi of the village. Before conducting marriage ceremony on Monday late night, while local people asked what the ‘PBI’ abbreviation means, Utpal failed to answer.

Human chain formed against militancy in Bagerhat

Teachers, students and employees of Kachua Shahid Shaikh Abu Naser Mohila College in Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district formed a human chain in front of the college on Monday holding different festoons and placards written “We don’t support militancy.” “Islam Does not support it,” “We want no-communal society.” They chanted slogans against the militancy and its masterminds. They also remembered the victims with due respect who were killed in Gulshan and Solakia attacks. Besides this, teachers, students and employees of Kachud Degree College, Kachua Shahid Shaikh Fazlul Hq Moni Technical College, Kachua C S Pilot Highs School, Kachus Pilot Girls’ High School, Mobaidul Islam High School, Gazalia Adarsh High School, Baraikhali High School and 10 Madrsas of Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district formed human chain in order to protest against militancy and communalism.
The also took oath to eradicate militancy from Bangladesh.
