Pakistan’s new Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his desire to work with Bangladesh for the welfare of both the countries.
Shehbaz Sharif has also thanked PM Sheikh Hasina for her letter of felicitations when he was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, a press release of
Pakistan High Commission to Dhaka said on Friday.
“I look forward to working with you for a better future of our two countries and for achieving the common vision of durable peace and lasting prosperity in our region,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
“The strong bonds of fraternity linking our two peoples have deep roots in shared history, common faith and convergent interests,” he added. “Let me avail this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your good health and happiness and for ever increasing progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Bangladesh. Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration,” the Pakistan PM continued. Shehbaz Sharif was elected as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan on last Monday, receiving 174 votes in the 342-strong National Assembly after his predecessor Imran Khan lost premiership in a no-confidence vote.
