Dr Serajul Islam Chowdhury, Professor Emeritus of Dhaka University, Dr Dilara Chowdhury, former professor of Jahangirnagar University and Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali, former health adviser to Prime Minister have been nominated as the members of Gono Bishwabidyalay Trust. The decision was made at the 40th meeting of the Board of Trustees held recently in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi Gonoshasthaya Hospital. The meeting was presided over by Trustee Member former justice Abdur Rouf as trustee board President Prof Halima Khatun was ill.
Dr Serajul Islam Chowdhury, a renowned academic, author, critic and columnist was professor of English Department of Dhaka University.
He was recognized with the Ekushey Padak Award and the Bangla Academy Award for his contribution to Bengali language and literature.
Dr Dilara Chowdhury was professor of Political Science Department of Jahangirnagar University and Dr Syed Modasser Ali is Chairman of Bangladesh Medical Research Council and the founder of Mojibunnessa Eye Hospital.
