New Psychotropic Substances (NPS), a new kind of drug, was seized at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport on Friday.
It was brought under the label of “green tea” which a team of anti-narcotics department seized on secret information.
Khorshed Alam, Assistant Director of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC),
Dhaka Metro (North), confirmed the news saying that it had come from Ethiopia.
A team of DNC headed by Additional Director Nazrul Islam of Detective Branch and supervised by DIG Masum Rabbani, Director (Operations) of DNC, seized the haul.
This drug has effect like yaba, he added. A man was arrested so far in connection with the incident.
Ethiopia National Ziad Muhammad Yousuf sent it to Nawahian Enterprise in Dhaka from Addis Ababa, sources said.
