The departing Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) committee handed over responsibilities to the new one on Monday for the next year.
The new committee took charge with the promises of elevating the quality and skills of professional journalists and protecting the rights of the DRU member. It also vowed to stay united for ensuring the trial of Sagar-Runi murder.
Outgoing DRU President Rafiqul Islam Azad and General Secretary Reaz Chowdhury moderated the program.
On November 30, the professional body had its executive committee’s election.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Senior Reporter Mursalin Nomani was elected as the DRU President.
And The Daily Samakal Senior Reporter Mosiur Rahman Khan was picked as the General Secretary of the professional body.
