Riju Mollha of Daily BhorerKagoj and Tanjid Basunia of Kalerkantho have been elected President and Secretary respectively of Jahangirnagar University Press Club (JUPC) new executive committee for 2015-2016 sessions.
The election was held at the JU press club on Monday. The other elected office bearers are Vice-President: Shamsuzaman of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), Joint Secretary: Junaid Ahmed of Sangbad Pratidin, Treasurer: Prottasha Promiti Siddaque of Purboposhchimbd.com, Office Secretary: G M Abu Taher of Daily Bhorer Pata, Press and Publication Secretary: Ilais Ahmed Khan of Bdlive24.com, Executive Members: Rezaul Islam Pramanik of Abnews24.com, Md Musa of Daily Kalbela, Abu Sayem of Online News Network (ONN) and Debjotti Ghosh of Asain Age.
Associate Prof of JU Institute of Information Technology K M Akkas Ali, chief election commissioner, announced the result at about 2.30 pm at JUPC office.Assistant Prof Selina Akter and Lecturer Nusrat Jahan conducted the poll as the assistant election commissioners.
