New BD envoy presents credentials to Pak President

Newly appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarique Ahsan has presented his credentials to Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday.
Members of the president guard regiment presented Bangladeshi envoy a guard of honour when he arrived at the main gate of President’s office Aiwan-e-Sadr with a traditional horse driven carriage.
The programme began amid playing of the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Later, the High Commissioner called on the Pakistani President.
The High Commissioner conveyed the greetings of Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the Pakistani President. Bangladesh High Commissioner also apprised Pakistani president of the latest progress and achievements of Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner expressed his desire to work for strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and wishes cooperation from the Pakistani President to this end.
Welcoming the envoy, Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would develop further during his tenure of stay in Pakistan.
The Pak President underscored the need for discussion between the two countries to resolve any difference of opinion.
The President said Pakistan was desirous of promoting friendly and brotherly relations further with all countries particularly with the neighbouring countries for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
Talking about Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism, the President said Pakistan made great sacrifices in fighting against terrorism and was committed to end this.
