bdnews24.com :The new Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Fazle Kabir, has met Finance Minister AMA Muhith and says he is joining his new assignment on Sunday.He went to Muhith’s house at Minto Road on Thursday night for the first time after he was chosen to lead the scam-hit central bank. His predecessor Atiur Rahman resigned on Tuesday facing pressure over a $81 million hacking heist in February. Kabir told reporters after meeting Muhith that it was a courtesy call.Kabir, a former finance secretary, said he will join the central bank after relinquishing his position of chairman of Sonali Bank, which itself is tainted by a massive credit scam.He arrived from New York in the morning and said prevention of such theft in Bangladesh Bank would be his first priority.
