A meeting of district law and order committee was held at the conference room of Netrakona DC office here recently.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Netrakona DR Abul Kalam Azad, the meeting was addressed, among others, by police super Netrakona Jakir Husain Khan, commanding officer of no-11 BGB battalion Lt col KM Imam Ahsan, additional district magistrate Abdur Rahim, civil surgeon Netrakona DR Shahiduddin Ahmed Sapan and general secretary of Netrakona press club Muklesur Rahman Khan.
District-level officers, public representatives including chairmen of all the ten upazila parishads , upazila nirbahi officers and officers -in -charge of all the police stations under the district attended the meeting.
According to the meeting sources, the meeting discussed matters relating to over all law and order situation of the district. The meeting issued instructions to the traffic police forces to stop movements of irrigation machine engine -driven lorries on the main roads of the district town during the period between dawn to dusk to control traffic-jam in the town.
The meeting also directed to the law-enforcing agencies including police forces to intensify anti-drug operations to keep the district free from illegal drug- peddling, trading and smuggling.
The police forces including intelligence officials were asked to investigate into the allegations of selling the tickets of the Haor express intercity train in black-markets here, the sources added.
