A fierce bowling spells by the Netherlands bowlers upset England by 45 runs in the ICC world T20 held on
Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Chasing England’s moderate 133 runs, England found the chase very stiff losing wickets in regular intervals and dismissed at a paltry total of 88 in 17.4 overs.
Logan van Beek and Mudassar Bukhari caused the major damage grabbing three wickets for 9 and 12 runs respectively.
Earlier, a responsible knock by first down Wesley Barresi saw Netherlands to score a moderate total of 133 for 5 from their allotted 20 overs against England, after they were invited to bat first by England.
Tom Cooper played 45-ball of 48-run hitting two over boundaries and two boundaries while he received an ample support from Stephan Myburgh who contributed a priceless 31-ball of 39 smacking six boundaries and one over boundary. Stuart Broad was the pick of England bowler taking three wickets giving away 24 runs.
