Nephew was arrested for beating aunt to death at Tarkar Char of Brojomohon village under remote Safipur union in Muladi upazila of Barisal district on Friday.
The victim was identified as Rashida Begum, 44, wife of Kuddus Akon and police arrested alleged killer Zakir Hossain, 22, son of victim’s brother in law Abdul Hai Akon.
Md. Alauddin, officer in charge of Muladi police station quoting family sources said scuffle over family feuds among the members of Abdul Kuddus and Abdul Hai Akon, two neighbouring siblings, happened on Thursday afternoon.
Following that Zakir beat and hit on head of his aunt Rashida after iftar on Thursday night.
Rashida was given first aid by rural medical practitioner and then succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning on way to remote upazila health complex, police sources said.
