Newly appointed Nepalese Ambassador in Dhaka Banashidhar Mishra called on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday at the latter’s office here.
During the meeting, they discussed the issues of mutual interest, said a handout.
Dr Shirin said Nepal is a trusted friend of Bangladesh for long and the bilateral relationship between the two countries are strongly bonded.
The Speaker said parliaments of both Bangladesh and Nepal can be benefitted with mutual exchanges of views among members of the two parliaments.
Dr Chaudhury informed the envoy about the celebration of ‘Mujib Year’ and invited the Speaker of the Nepal to visit Bangladesh on the occasion.
She expected that the existing bilateral visits between the parliamentary delegations will strengthen friendship between the two nations.
The Nepalese envoy praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for ensuring continued political stability in Bangladesh.
