Nepal to buy 2m doses Covid-19 vaccine from BD

A Nepalese company signed deal to buy two million doses of Bangladeshi Covid-19 vaccine developed by Globe Biotech Ltd.
The Nepalese company named Anmol Healthcare Ltd, has informed of their demand through a ‘letter of intent’ to Globe Biotech Ltd on Wednesday saying that they will buy the vaccine of mentioned amount, if it passes trials.
Dr Mohammad Mohiuddin, Manager (quality and regulatory operations) of Globe Biotech Ltd said, “Anmol Healthcare Ltd sent the letter of intent to us via email and we have already replied them that we will supply our vaccines once after it passes the trials.”
Meanwhile, Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Banshidhar Mishra visited Globe Biotech Ltd laboratory in Dhaka on Thursday.
The Nepalese ambassador said journalists during the visit that his country will buy BANCOVID for sure if the vaccine passes clinical trials.
“We hope that this vaccine will be cheaper for our country. Another reason is the virus strain in South Asia which causing infection are the same in Bangladesh and Nepal so this vaccine will be more effective for us,” Dr Banshidhar Mishra said.
Harunur Rashid, Chairman of Globe Biotech Group, said his company has received requests from different foreign governments and companies.
He said that orders of some 20 million doses of the vaccine are in the pipeline.
