The National Board of Revenue (NBR) honoured Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, a sister concern of the country’s electronics giant Walton Group, as the second highest VAT payer at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF-2019) that wrapped up on February 9. Walton paid a total of Tk 41,01,732 VAT at the month-long mega expo, says a press release.
The award was handed over to Walton at NBR headquarters in city recently. Md. Humayun Kabir, Executive Director of Walton Group, received the crest and certificate from NBR Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan. Md Shahidul Islam, Additional Operative Director of Walton Group, was among others present on the occasion.
Walton also secured the first prize of the Best Premier Pavilion Category for its eye-catching and beautiful 3-storey Pavilion at this year’s expo. The company’s another brand Marcel’s Pavilion also got the first prize of the Best General Pavilion Award.
Receiving the crest of the award, Humayun Kabir said, award means recognition. Walton kept receiving the first prizes of highest VAT payer at DITF for last 12 years. This time, we got the second highest VAT payer award. This means we are in the right track and we regularly get awards and recognitions by paying VAT.
