A F M Shariful Islam has been appointed as Managing Director of National Bank Limited for 03(three) years effected from March 24, 2016.
Prior to his appointment, he was Additional Managing Director of the Bank. Shariful Islam started his career as Probationary Officer in AB Bank Limited in the year 1986.
He worked as manager and divisional head and performed with responsibilities is policy making process of different private banks. He also worked as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
A F M Shariful Islam did his M A with Honors in Economics in the University of Rajshahi in the year 1986. He also completed Diploma on `Financial Asset Management and Engineering from Switzerland and Certificate course on ‘Securities Capital market Governance from US Securities Exchange Commission.
He was a Task Force member of OIC Exchange. During his long banking career Sharif widely traveled home & abroad and attended different seminar & symposiums. He was born in 1960 in a noble Muslim family in Chapainobabgonj.
