Nazrul Academy organized a week-long Bangladesh-India Nazrul
conference titled Nazrul Shammilan 2015 from November 25 to December
3 in Dhaka, Feni and Chittagong.
The Academy organised the
conference to encourage Nazrul
education and also to improve
bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh. As a part of the cultural exchange programme between these
two countries, a 17-member of Nazrul
organisation, Agniveena from India led by Robin Mukherjee also
visited Bangladesh.
The first two days programme was held at Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital’s Segunbagicha area on November 25 and 26.
Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament Advocate Md Fazle Rabbi Mia MP inaugurated the conference which was presided over by President of Nazrul Academy and noted folklore expert Dr Ashraf Siddiqui.
Granddaughter and grandson of Kazi Nazrul Islam Khilkhil Kazi and Suborno Kazi, General Secretary of Nazrul Academy Mintu Rahman, among others, were also present on the occasion.
In the second day of the conference, noted researcher and singer Mustafa Zaman Abbasi was present as the chief guest which was presided over by Ekushey Award winner language veteran Prof Md Abdul Gafur.
Artists of Kolkata’s Agniveena
and Nazrul Academy also performed in first two days’ cultural event.
Nazrul Conference also took place in Feni and Chittagong on November 27 and 28 to 29 respectively.
On December 1, the programme was held on premises of Nazrul Academy
at Belalabad in Dhaka’s Mogbazar area which was wrapped up
on December 3. n
